We are a family of God's people joyfully sharing Jesus' love by serving all children. Our Preschool provides a quality, play-based education for children in a Christian environment. Our program respects each child's individual growth and development, while encouraging independence, good citizenship, and family participation.

Philosophy

Our program is based upon a developmental philosophy. Our curriculum is designed to be flexible so that we may provide experiences geared to the ability and readiness of each child.

Meet Our Teachers

Teacher Mandy - Director

I am the Director at Hosanna! Preschool and I am thrilled to be a part of this wonderful Preschool program.  I have a Bachelor’s in Elementary Education from Michigan State University and a Master’s in Early Childhood Education from Roosevelt University.  I taught preschool, first grade, was a stay-at-home-mom for a while and did some tutoring too!  My daughter, Harmony and my son, Dominick, and I enjoy taking care of our bearded dragon and our dog at home.

Teacher Sara - Assistant Director and Lead Teacher

I have a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Monmouth College and a Master’s degree in Child Development from Erikson Institute. I have over 20 years of experience working with children and their families as a teacher, developmental therapist, postpartum doula, and nanny, amongst other things.  My husband and I have 3 amazing children as well as 2 dogs and 3 guinea pigs! In my free time, I love to read, decorate, spend time with family and friends, and travel.

Teacher Janet - Lead Teacher

I am very excited about teaching Preschool this year.  I started at Hosanna! in 2019 but I have been teaching young children for over 30 years.  I am a certified Early Childhood Educator and I find nothing more exciting than working with and watching children grow and learn.  My husband, Jason, and I have 3 children and we live in Elburn with our 2 dogs, Cori and Mo.

Teacher Traycie - Lead Teacher

My goals are to have lots of fun, learn many new things, make some great new friends, and help your kiddos get ready for Kindergarten!  I graduated from Arizona State University with a degree in Early Childhood Education. While this is my first year teaching at Hosanna! Preschool, educating young children is NOT new for me!  I have been a Sunday School teacher and softball coach for the past 5 years.  I have two daughters – Reese (5^th grade) and Zoe (4^th grade) who both went through Hosanna! Preschool!  I also have two dogs (Sissy – 12; Buddy - 2) and a cat named Cupcake.

Teacher Melissa - Lead Teacher

This is my second year teaching at Hosanna! Preschool. I have been teaching children for many years. I have my Masters in classical voice. I sing professionally with local choirs and orchestras. I teach voice and piano lessons out of my home in the afternoons. I live in St. Charles with my husband and my 2 girls- Faith and Hope. I love working with children and seeing the amazement when they learn new things.  

Teacher Kim - Lead Teacher

Hello! My name is Teacher Kim.  This is my second year at Hosanna! Preschool however, this is my 9th year teaching preschool!  I have lived in the Fox Valley for 20 years.  I have a son getting his Master’s degree at UW-Milwaukee, a daughter working for World Relief while getting her Masters, and my youngest is navigating life and pondering cosmetology school. My husband and I are getting used to the incredible quiet that has taken over our house, but that will change come the holidays! We’ve had a dog and cat in the past, our son had turtles, a gecko and salamander but took them all with him, and we go back and forth on getting a dog again, we’ll see! I look forward to an exciting year of fun and learning! 

Teacher Christa - Teacher Assistant

 I’m beginning my 5th year assistant teaching at Hosanna! Preschool. I graduated with my Bachelor’s degree in Interdepartmental Communication from Elmhurst College and I also received my Master’s degree from Dominican University in Organizational Leadership. I’ve been married to my husband Ryan for 19 years and we have 2 children. Lauren (7th grade) and Greg (3rd grade) who are both Hosanna! Preschool alumni. We love our parakeet named Milo. My hobbies include reading and lots of walks in the Fox Valley area.  

Teacher Nikki - Teacher Assistant

I graduated from Purdue University with a degree in elementary education. This is my second year here with Teacher Sara at Hosanna! Preschool! Both my son and daughter were students here and we loved it!! I love animals (my favorite being dogs) house plants, going out to dinner, baseball, and the color blue. I hate hot weather but I love Arizona. 

Teacher Kristine - Teacher Assistant

This is my first year as a Teacher’s Assistant at Hosanna! Preschool, and I could not be more excited! I have been a stay-at-home mom for many years and now that my kids are older (Rachel – 18; Carter – 16; Katey – 15), I am so blessed to be able to be around little ones again through Hosanna!  I have lived in South Elgin with my family for nine years.  My husband (Jon – married 22 years) and I love going on walks with our little Chorkie (Bebee), watching Survivor, hiking and skiing.  Some of my passions include writing poetry, organizing, the color purple, and being around kids.

Teacher Barb - Teacher Assistant

Hello! My name is Barb and this is my first year as a teacher assistant at Hosanna! I have two boys, Lukas (7) and Matthew (5). Matthew is currently at Hosanna! and loves it. I have a BA in elementary education with an endorsement in middle school science. I worked in the school setting for many years before having kids. I enjoy reading, gardening, the beach, family time and my Peloton. I’m so excited to be a part of the Hosanna! team this year!

Teacher Cherie – Teacher Assistant

My name is Teacher Cherie and this is my first year teaching preschool at Hosanna!  I have been married to my high school sweetheart for 29 years.  We live in South Elgin with our two children, Antonio (15) and Ava (12).  We have a hamster named Prince.  We have been members at Hosanna! for many years.

Teacher Jen – Teacher Assistant

My name is Teacher Jen and I am looking forward to a great school year as an assistant teacher this year.  I’ve been a stay-at-home mom for the last 9 years and am looking forward to spending my mornings with Hosanna! Preschool now.  I’ve been married to my husband, Leo, for 11 years.  We have a 9-year-old daughter, Gia, and an 8-year-old son, Lucca.  I’ve lived in St. Charles for 5 years and both of my kids went to Hosanna! Preschool!

Teacher Linda – Administrative Substitute

I have been blessed to be a part of Hosanna! Preschool for over 32 years. I taught the four day 4-5’s class for many years before accepting the position of Director. My youngest child attended Hosanna! Preschool….I received my degree in Therapeutic Recreation from Winona State University in Minnesota.  My husband and I have been married for 43 years and raised three amazing children. They have now blessed us with five grandchildren. Sparky and Maya the “dogs” completed our fun and crazy family!  Walking, boating, reading, traveling and being with family and friends makes my life Happy and Joyful!  

Teacher Joyce - Substitute

I have been working as a Teacher's Assistant at Hosanna! Preschool for 15 years!  I have loved every minute that I have spent with the wonderful children and families throughout the years.  I live in St. Charles and have three children - Joey, Danielle and Jason, who all attended Hosanna! preschool.  In my free time I love to walk my beautiful black lab, Bella.

Teacher Beth - Substitute

I have worked at HPS for 10 years! My husband and I live in Geneva. Our oldest, Sam, is 25 and lives in Bend, Oregon and works for a doctor wearing many hats. Our youngest, Nick, is 23 and lives with us and our dog, Remi. Nick is finishing up his finance degree at U of I. Both of my children attended Hosanna! Preschool! When I am not having fun with the HPS kiddos, I enjoy kayaking, swimming, gardening, cooking, traveling, spending time with family and friends, and taking Remi for lots of walks. I am working towards becoming a Kane County Certified Naturalist so I spend time volunteering, learning about, and working in the forest preserves and other nearby natural areas.
